Grandmas & Groceries

By Emily Siwek, Sphere Trending Trend Futurist, Director of Architectural Design

This month we’re showcasing some of our recent travels and especially the undercurrent of nostalgia that remains strong in everything from design trends to technology.

Like the satisfaction of a full pantry, our latest trendspotting in Paris was filled with simple, nostalgic items you might find in a retro kitchen.

At Merci, the current exhibit At My Grandma’s featured pantry staples as motif – from hot water bottles and crocheted milk cartons to tinned foods.

This aligns with Summer’s Tomato Girl aesthetic shifting to the new Grocery Girl look for Fall and beyond.
