Sphere-spotting: High Point

By Cathy Schneider, Sphere Trending Trend Futurist, Director of Color Theory

313 Space is a new, curated market experience located in a historically restored 155,000 sq ft 20th century mill in High Point, NC. The original red brick building was built in 1901 for The High Point Buggy Co and later became the home of the Slane Hosiery Mill. This state-of-the-art facility offers modern showrooms with meticulously preserved hardwood floors, tall wooden ceilings and beams, flooded with natural light.

Schwung Home

Schwung, a creative studio with the heart of a collector and the hands of a maker, occupies the majority of the first floor, joined by the new Dedon US Headquarters, both of which are open year-round.

Other products seen at the 313 space included small scale lampshades that were a new product featured at Soil To Studio, a sustainable area featured Keim Sustainable Mineral Paints and Libeco Home, the authentic Belgian Linen Company, had a strong presence at 313 Space as well.

Home Away From Home

By Riann Henkel, Sphere Trending Trend Futurist, Director of Interior Home

At Sphere Trending, we keep our eyes on all aspects of design from Residential to Architecture to Commercial Design – and this commercial design project stopped us in our tracks. Resimercial (the blending of residential design into commercial spaces) is not a new conversation. But this LSU Locker room project from Designer Wendy Sharp and Artistic Tile took Resimercial design to another level… a level perfect for national champions. We’ve been just as captivated by NCAA ladies basketball as the rest of the country, so seeing sports, resimercial design and elevated luxe blend together so perfectly was inspiring.

The Glorified Garden

By Cathy Schneider, Sphere Trending Trend Futurist, Director of Color Theory

At Sphere Trending, we always have an eye on how the retail experience is evolving. We were excited to see that Terrain is opening a new location at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This new partnership will offer a fresh shopping concept for the botanical space. This will be an immersive retail experience, showcasing their unique plants, seasonal decor, artisan gifts, and more.

Vintage Vibes

By Cathy Schneider, Sphere Trending Trend Futurist, Director of Color Theory

While the appeal of retro is not necessarily new news, we continue to see it popping up at tradeshows and trendspotting. At the most recent High Point furniture market, vintage vibes were strong – especially with patterns and soft goods.

These layered fabrics felt fresh yet familiar – we can just picture them adding the perfect accent to a cool, cozy home.
